The high society goes to paradise - The representation of the rich part of Brazil in contemporary Brazilian cinematographic comedy of manners
Abstract
This paper is part of the research project Looking at work in the Brazilian cinema: From the representation of the fictional protagonist to the documentation of the real life character. It describes the representation of the high society in the contemporary Brazilian cinema. The way in which the conflicts and habits of the high society appear, are depicted and discussed reflects a significant aspect of the Brazilian cinematographic production, which in a way is bypassing the discussion of social issues.
