In this article, we intend to discuss the development of discourses about individuals considered monsters, during some periods of Social History, and their relation to Brazilian press and to media discourses. We will focus our argument on a heritage specially orientated to the existence of a marginalized and monstrous subject, according to religious and psychiatric ideologies. In this way, we will make a relation between narratives in contemporary press and their authority. We will analyze also inquisitorial trials, in Middle Ages, about monsters exorcized at that time (Jews, witches, lepers), and Psychiatry's discourse, in 19th century, about dangerous and crazy people.
Key words: media discourse, parricide, monstrosity, circularity.Downloads
