About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Fronteiras - estudos midiáticos is a peer-reviewed journal published three times a year by Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos, Unisinos, Brazil.

It intends to be a forum for theoretical methodological discussion and analysis of communication processes, which are understood as the practices expressed in different media through a variety of technical devices: newspapers, magazines, radio, cinema, television, photography, advertisement, video, internet and others.

Articles are published in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French or Italian.

Peer Review Process

The publication of the article is subjected to the previous approval of the journal's Editorial Board, as well as to peer review made by, at least, two ad hoc reviewers using the double blind review process.

The final acceptance of the article depends on:

  • The recommendation of the reviewers;

  • That the authors carry out the necessary corrections;

  • And final approval by the Editorial Board, which decision will recommend one of the following options:

    1. Accept submission;
    2. Revisions required;
    3. Resubmit for review;
    4. Resubmit elsewhere;
    5. Decline submission;
    6. See comments.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making cientific knowledge freely available to the public supports a greater global democratization of knowledge.
