This article investigates the journalistic work of the Catalan reporter Bru Rovira, in order to highlight the sensitive strategies that, under a dialogical-affective look (Buber, 1979; Medina, 2006), cross his narrative dynamics and tie his writing and photografic records. Specifically, we analyze the text-photo set that makes up Rovira’s (2006) reports on Liberia and Rwanda, in the post-Cold War period, with the aim of reflecting on the intersubjectivity experience mobilized in these pieces and to point out how the media image, like the texts, can be configured as an instance of encounter with the Other.
