The paper introduces a reflection on the visibility regime under which death and the dead body are subjected nowadays. For this, it analyzes the case of the leak and circulation of the emergency care video and the preparation of singer Cristiano Araújos’ corpse for burial. It describes the communication circuit by which these videos transited. The episode reflects on the media dynamics over death images, what revels or not the new practices that would subvert old representational hierarchies. In this context, it aims to investigate how the interest in death and in the cadaver state of the individual joins and is actualized in the contemporary communication system.
