Peculiarities of the socialization mediated by television according to its reception by adolescents in institutions
Abstract
The article reflects on the process, in the scope of reception, of the socialization through the media operated by television among adolescents who live in shelter institutions in Porto Alegre (RS). By retrieving some elements of the television flow that institute themselves as matrices of socialization (having as a mediation of this process the shelter institutions themselves, the groups of peers, friends and the habitus), I try to indicate possible changes operated in the identity of these adolescents by their learning through television.
