This essay aims to analyze the articulation between the philosophy of language and the metaphysical thought of Paul Ricoeur. Paul Ricoeur has already died, but he could be considered one of the main authors of contemporary French philosophy. He had the originality of bringing together German and French philosophy. We intend to justify the possible articulation between the philosophy of language and metaphysics in Ricoeur’s philosophy through an analysis of his reflections on metaphor and other texts in which he presents his arguments about metaphysics.
Keywords: metaphor, metaphysics, meaning, language, phenomenology, hermeneutics.
