Notes on the meaning of suffering in Nietzsche’s On the genealogy of morals

This article intends to discuss the meanings that Nietzsche points out as possible for suffering vis-à-vis the accusation of a vital type that belongs to a specific configuration: the Christian ascetic ideal. To carry out such an attempt we will discuss the theoretical tools available in the text, such as the genealogical method and will to power. On this basis it is possible to position the work as an enabler of discussions about its diagnosis of our time, showing the author’s vitality for philosophical enrichment.
