My paper would like to show that generosity is the central point in Cartesian ethics. My hypothesis is that generous actions are capable of controlling the passions, which refer to the ego and which are the source of regrets, through the promotion of care towards others as the center of moral actions. When associated with the concept of care, the Cartesian concept of generosity roughly approximates Cartesian ethics to the ethics of care.
