The article sets out to trace Dilthey's influence on Hegel-Forschung. After showing how Dilthey's conceptions, especially the notion of “archive”, were central in the formation of research on Hegel and even in the institution of the Hegel Archive, the text evaluates Dilthey's conceptions on three points, namely, the developmental approach, interdisciplinarity and the notion of context. Finally, a critical note is made.
