About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Unisinos Journal of Philosophy is a publication of the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos, with a continuous periodicity of three issues per year, and its main objective is to publish original articles by Brazilian and foreign researchers. Our editorial policy follows the research communication in the Open Science modus operandi Texts can be written in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Qualis/Capes A1.
Articles must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication anywhere else and can be written in Portuguese, English or Spanish. The journal also reprints papers that are considered fundamental to the area when authorized written permission is given by the original publisher.
Mission
Publish original research that can help qualify the national and international philosophical debate.
Peer Review Process
The publication of the article is subjected to the previous approval of the journal's Editorial Board, as well as to peer review made by, at least, two ad hoc reviewers using the double blind review process.
The final acceptance of the article depends on:
- The recommendation of the reviewers;
- That the authors carry out the necessary corrections;
- And final approval by the Editorial Board, which decision will recommend one of the following options:
- Accept submission;
- Revisions required;
- Resubmit for review;
- Resubmit elsewhere;
- Decline submission;
- See comments.
We adopted the double-blind peer review. Emphasizing that we disclose the list of reviewers at the end of the three issues. Preprint submissions from the following servers are acceptable: SciELO Preprints, arXiv, bioRxiv, and medRxiv. The journal editors will analyze the acceptance of Preprints from other servers. The final version of the approved article will be published with the name of the editor or editors responsible for the manuscript evaluation process. Manuscripts must be accompanied by a data availability statement for the data used or generated in the research underlying the texts.
Open Access Policy I
To ensure the democratization of access to scientific knowledge, the journal adopts the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY) license. Readers have free and immediate access to the content. In other words, the periodical allows free and immediate access to the contents published, allowing any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or create links to the full texts of articles, track them for indexing, transmit them as data for software or use it for any other lawful purpose, as long as credit is given to the author. Furthermore, our editorial policy follows the research communication in the Open Science modus operandi.
Open Access Policy II
Filosofia Unisinos offers open access to publications. The rights to explore the contents of the articles belong to the journal, however, their sharing or citation, directly or indirectly, through citations is permitted as established by current regulations. It is also allowed to the author of the texts to share them on their personal pages, in institutional repositories and in other places, as long as they cite and reference the publication by the journal.
