Abstract

The enlargement of the energy mix of the country is being more and more necessary, accompanied to the high economic growth promoted in Brazil in the last years. The use of renewable primary energy sources is gaining more space in the current energy scenario. Brazil has great potential to explore these renewable sources, and strategies for exploration in hybrid energy systems may have advantages in terms of reliability of electricity supply. Thus, based on the study of this project, which evaluated the hydro and wind potential, seasonally, in the basin of the Verde Grande River, analyzing the complementarity between the two sources, the present study aims to simulate the potential energy stored in reservoirs from different models of dynamic simulations, to the best hydroelectric use during drought periods.

Keywords: Renewable sources, hybrid generation, stored energy potential, seasonally.
