Abstract

O presente artigo pretende fazer uma análise comparativa entre as obras de dois grandes romancistas brasileiros – São Bernardo, de Graciliano Ramos e Dom Casmurro, de Machado de Assis – no que se refere ao tema do ciúme, visto sob a perspectiva da concepção do casamento na sociedade brasileira dos séculos XIX e XX como uma reafirmação da ordem tradicional do poder.
