This paper proposes to describe the normative question, presented by Professor Christine M. Korsgaard in her The Sources of Normativity, and then to present the Thomistic moral philosophy, looking for a possible answer to the problem. The work first introduces Korsgaard's moral thought, presenting the problem, and her argument for finding the source of normativity. In a second moment, it presents the foundations of the moral theory of Thomas Aquinas, deepening, especially, in the study of the voluntary act – given its central character in the study of morals – and the ordering of acts at the end. Finally, it seeks to understand the nature of the moral law, with emphasis on the notions of obligation and sanction.
