Monogamy: Winnicottian interpretations

Abstract

The aim of this article is to develop hypothesis about the relations between psychic and emotional development as described by Winnicott and the monogamy. We conclude that monogamy can be interpreted as an attempt to return to the original state in which the security provided by the dependent relationship with the mother is rediscovered. In this type of loving arrangement, there are attempts to restore feelings of security, exclusivity and need of others. Thus, it is proposed to think the constitution of a couple as an attempt to establish themselves as indispensable, refusing the transience and the transitioning of the affectionate bond. This relationship would be an attempt to spare us the anguish of not being loved and appease excess of drive excitement inherited from the initial affection of the first caregivers. It is still possible to think that monogamy, as a forceful social model, also facilitates the installation and maintenance of false selves.

Possui graduação em Psicologia pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2014), com ênfase em Psicologia Clínica. É psicóloga clínica no Hospital Espírita André Luiz(HEAL), sendo responsável pela Unidade de Tratamento de Dependência Química. É Psicóloga Preceptora de estágio na Universidade Salgado de Oliveira (UNIVERSO). Atualmente está cursando o programa de Mestrado em Estudos Psicanalíticos na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)

Possui graduação em Psicologia, pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1999). Mestrado em Psicologia, na área de concentração "Estudos Psicanalíticos" (FAFICH - UFMG - 2003): pesquisa sobre a noção de sujeito psíquico a partir do diálogo entre a psicanálise de Freud e Laplanche e o pragmatismo de Wittgenstein, Rorty e Davidson. Doutorado em Literatura Brasileira (FALE - UFMG - 2007): análise do romance "Sargento Getúlio", de J. Ubaldo Ribeiro, com o objetivo de entender, por um lado, os eventos ali descritos como alegoria da produção de subjetividade ao longo da história do Brasil - a partir da sociologia de Weber e a filosofia política de Hannah Arendt - e, por outro, compreender os artifícios estéticos empregados por Ubaldo na construção do personagem-narrador, Getúlio, a partir da estética de G. Bataille e G. Didi-Hubermann. Atualmente, possui dois projetos de pesquisa: (1) as relações entre as obras de Jean Laplanche e Donald Winnicott (aspectos clínicos, políticos e teóricos) e (2) o ciúme patológico nos homens.
