This article aims to present a critical discursive analysis of an experience in school-field with an emphasis on possibilities and potentialities of critical reading by black women writers. From this, we seek to discuss a critical literacy practice aimed at raising awareness about gender and intersectional issues, such as race and class. Based on theoretical-methodological perspectives from critical discourse studies, studies on gender and (de)coloniality and the ethnographic and collaborative research approach, this paper analyzes representations of a reading and debate cicle held in 2017 in an Elementary School located in Ceilândia-Federal District (DF). The analysis presented here indicates as a possible contribution of the reading of literature produced by black women writers, in the school context, the promotion of practices of contestation against hegemonizing and colonial discourses of gender and race, with the potential to de-legitimize racist and sexist ideologies.
