Resumen

This paper presents a study about innovation processes induced by company’s external factors, specifically through the adoption of a governmental incentive, the REWCC (Customs Regime of Industrial Warehouse in Computerized Control), by the telecommunications industry companies. An exploratory research was carried out, using content analysis as the methodological procedure, and in-depth interviews were applied to eight executives from the telecommunications companies Siemens, Motorola and Ericsson. The focus was to identify the kind of innovation process that occurred, the innovated processes and the efficacy of their implementation. The results revealed that the efficacy of the implementation was apparently reached. However, the fail in keeping the deadline and the absence of previous experience were the most restrictive factors. The innovation process did not bring any threat related to the rupture of current organizational processes, but an incremental competence increase. It was observed that the repercussion of the changes had reflected in the supply chain as a whole. Additionally, the REWCC implementation promoted an increase of organizational processes´ control. They have become more reliable and accurate.

Key words: processes innovation, processes efficacy, REWCC.
