Organizational and interpersonal trust as a dimension of organizational climate

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the variables that depict the perception of the employees about trust are manifested in environment Brazilian Organizations. The research is quantitative with respect to its nature and descriptive with respect to its goal. Data collection occurred from April to May 2010 and was developed with the survey method. Four hundred eighty-one organizations signed up in the order to participate in the research and 139,230 employees answered the survey. The sample is probabilistic stratified, random and proportional by sex. Data normality tests were performed (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Shapiro-Wilks) and assessed the internal consistency of the instrument and the various dimensions of environment through the Cronbach Alpha. We developed average tests and Spearman correlation to verify the association between dimensions. The main results are: a positive result with respect to the environment as well as trust in the surveyed relationships, strong positive correlation between the environment dimensions and trust. It was found that the organizational trust presents higher concordance rates than interpersonal; however, both of them can be considered positive because the level of agreement is greater than 50% for both.
