Abstract

Business requirements, especially about sustainable development, form a scenario in which sustainable practices have started to be implemented in the projects of an increasing number of companies. Entrepreneurial orientation, in turn, assists in the strategic decision process in which managers define organizational purposes in the search for differentiation and competitive advantage. In this scenario, this study evaluated the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational performance in the perception of managers of companies certified in the Itajaí/SC social seal program. For a quantitative and descriptive analysis, the method was a survey. Data were analyzed using univariate and multivariate techniques. The results showed that organizational performance confirmed all hypotheses except for the competitive aggressiveness dimension. The correlations of organizational performance with entrepreneurial orientation and the dimensions of proactivity, risk-taking and autonomy showed greater strength and with innovativeness the least strength, which characterized the multidimensional nature of the entrepreneurial orientation construct. The research can help managers improve the strategic management of companies and contribute to the advancement of studies in the field of entrepreneurship. The relevance of this work is linked to the fundamental role that the social seal plays in the responsibility and sustainability of organizations, as well as its importance as an instrument of differentiation and creation of competitive advantage.
