About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Arquiteturarevista is directed to the dissemination of scientific works related to different disciplinary fields that are linked to territory, building and digital space. This new triad establishes the fundamental locus for advancing the reflections on contemporary architecture.
The journal is interested in themes that focus on architectural practice in its functional, compositional, morphological type and technical-constructive aspects as well as in the dynamics of formation, growth, and development of cities in socio-spatial, cultural, economic and environmental terms applied to the present.
It proposes the creation of a space for intellectual production and discussion on themes emerging from contemporary architecture, preferably with approaches related to sustainability and technology in cities and buildings. In this collective space of knowledge production, Arquiteturarevista intends to contribute to the construction of an ethically responsible knowledge.
Arquiteturarevista which is under the editorial responsibility of the Post-Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism accepts submissions on a rolling basis. The journal accepts articles written by doctors (or graduate students in co-authorship with a doctor mentor). The articles must be sent electronically, following the steps of a system that aims to give assistance to the journal's editing in each phase of the editorial process: http://revistas.unisinos.br/arquitetura
Peer Review Process
The publication of the article is subjected to the previous approval of the journal's Editorial Board, as well as to peer review made by, at least, two ad hoc reviewers using the double blind review process. The final decision on the approval or non-approval of the articles submitted to the journal belongs to the Editor of the journal.
The final acceptance of the article depends on:
- The recommendation of the reviewers;
- That the authors carry out the necessary corrections;
- And final approval by the Editorial Board, which decision will recommend one of the following options:
- Accept submission;
- Revisions required;
- Resubmit for review;
- Resubmit elsewhere;
- Decline submission;
- See comments.
Publishing Ethics
Scientific journals have had to deal with a significant increase in the number of cases of plagiarism.
Some examples of such problems are:
- an author copying a substantial part of another's work without acknowledgment or passing another's work off as her or his own;
- fraudulent research;
- self-plagiarism, among others.
Thus, we considered that monitoring publishing ethics is a major aspect of the editorial and peer-review process.
Our commitment to this process includes the use of the web-based software Similarity Check (powered by iThenticate). This software permits the comparison of manuscripts against a unique database of at least 30 million articles from more than 200 publishers. We would like thereby to contribute for the ethics in science.
Publication Frequency
ArquiteturaRevista publishes two issues per year.
