The method proposes to select a list of elements of urban infrastructure (under study) as part of the total of the city in order to establish a life expectancy for each of the urban components accompanied by a series of design strategies and recommendations for durable design which also describes several points for basic maintenance of the urban component recommended for each parts and as a whole. These durable design strategies could be useful during the early stages of design and urban planning, especially to have reliable benchmarks of reference service life and durability of built components in cities.
