This paper aims to present the concept of narrative continuity as a central component for understanding a mode of seriality primarily explored in super-hero comics. To this end, we define continuity as a logical need between narrative elements present in two or more instances of the same storyworld, which can only be understood through a posterior triggering of such knowledge in continuous processes of reading and appreciating of the serial format – especially those structured in the mode of a saga. Later on, the paper explains why continuity is a central concept in super-hero comics and also its various analytical applications.
