Biografias em fractais: múltiplas identidades em redes flexíveis e inesgotáveis
Abstract
The objective of this text is to present an alternative model regarding the building of biographies, which bypasses the traditional diachronic format of narrative, classified by Pierre Bordieu as “biographic illusion”, that tries to describe the happenings of a life as a story with a beginning, a middle and an end, constructing a coherent and stable whole. To reach our purpose we borrow some concepts from the natural science, such as the theory of chaos and of fractals, through a metaphorical transference of their proposals to our analysis. Our model rejects the concepts of unity and coherence used in the study of the processes that forge the identities, and substitutes them for a perspective that offers a privileges to the fragmentallity and the multiplicity.
