The (re)territorialization mediated by Uruguayan migrants

Abstract

This work focuses on the (re)territorialization of Uruguayan migrants, settled or circulating around the South of Brazil – RS, Mercosur area, observing the dynamic (consumption) of Brazilian media products published in Uruguay. The (re)territorialization as representations allowing the expansion of cultural and symbolic patrimony, by the media appropriations, as mediators and resignifying collective, individual and cultural senses – complex society. This media instances represents the re-localization by the individual needing to understand, to recognize the scenario in which one is (or one is going to migrate). The Brazilian media products are re-configured on the usage for the knowledge and imaginary elaboration, in order to update the new social-public space. Therefore, the representation of facts is elaborated and the individual (re)territorializes itself in “another” reality and social present time causing tensions to the desterritorialization.
