Abstract

This article presents a possible reading of the discoursive construction of contemporary urban space by a Bahian televised program called Let the people come!. The main goal is to expose relations between spatial notions from different fields of knowledge and aspects related to enunciation. For this, the cited program is overcome as a case study, comprehended from the perspective of that the discoursive constructed space confines it in the limits of the not-noble neighborhoods of the Bahian main city and that such positioning promotes visibility to spaces and individuals in general invisible, socially and in the landscape of the local journalism of reference. The French Discourse Analysis makes possible to understand the orientation of the discourse, being allowed to observe with details the established enunciative relations between the systems of signification implied in the construction of the spatial direction propagated by the program in direct relation with its audiovisual nature.

Key words: social visibility, urban spaces, televising program.
