This article presents the results of a research project conducted between 2005 and 2008 by the Center for Communication and Health (InCom-UAB) and commissioned by Red2002 [2] with the aim of analyzing the treatment of the HIV/AIDS in the Spanish newspapers. The research project involves content analysis. Its results show that the media’s agenda is marked by events and that, over time, not only do they write less about HIV/AIDS, but they also explain and contextualize less. On the other hand, however, they do not establish such a strong relationship between HIV / AIDS and death and make more use of the NGOs as sources.
