This presentation of the special issue "Misinformation and Disinformation on Digital Platforms in the Pandemic '' aims to stimulate dialogues between the key arguments and empirical analyses of the twelve articles published in the current edition of Fronteiras journal. Transformations in journalism, content moderation on platforms and narrative disputes around regimes of truth are some of the issues discussed in the sections "Fake News, Disinformation, Journalism" and "Platforms: with and against disinformation". Based on literature reviews, we also seek to situate some fundamental and/or prominent discussions on the themes that inspire this special issue and to point out possible paths for future research, including the study of deepfakes.
