Reciclagem de latas de alumínio usando fusão em forno elétrico à indução
Abstract
The influence of foundry procedures on efficiency obtained in the recycling of aluminum cans using electric induction furnace were investigated. The cans were compacted in “packages” using high pressures. Initially the flux quantity was maintained constant (20% in weight), changing itself the temperature of the melt and fluxing procedure. To follow melt temperatures (750 and 850º C) and fluxing procedure were maintained constant and flux contents were changed. The recycling aluminum was poured in permanent molds. The results were assessed computing the efficiency of the recycling process, defined as a relation between the recycled and original amount of aluminum. Chemical composition was evaluated by optical emission spectroscopy. The results indicated a stronger influence of the experimental parameters over efficiency in the aluminum cans recycling.
