Abstract
Studies under the approach of the neo-institutionalism in recent years have brought potential advances in the research on institutions in the Brazilian reality. However, it starts from the assumption that even with these advances, this issue still deserves further clarification and deepening in the discussions on organizational networks. It is argued in this theoretical and reflexive paper that this is already happening even with restricted incorporation of interdisciplinary thinking in the area of management. Thus, the objective of this paper is to show applications of the treated neo-institutionalism in political science as a potential approach and method of analysis of organizational networks nowadays. To accomplish this, this study intends to present aspects of the neo-institutionalist approach, as well as those inspired by studies such as Dye (1987) in political science, in an attempt to provide an analytical framework for the study of institutions and politics in organizational networks. Finally, the objective is to discuss the scope and explanatory usefulness of the analytical framework and aspects of the institutional analysis dealt with in political science, coupled with potential contributions and reflections believed that political science can offer to studies on organizational networks.
