Kammiri Corinaldesi Aros, Luiz Fernando Gonçalves de Figueiredo, Eugenio Andrés Díaz Merino

The context of social innovation in design can be understood, at the same time, as an opportunity and a need shared among the multiple social actors. In this scenario, this article aims at presenting the information obtained through structured literature revision, using the bibliometric revision technique on the terms design management and social innovation, seeking to answer the research question, which is if there is previous studies relating design management to social innovation. For that, the research proceeded with the data collection ranging from indexed scientific articles to national and international journals, accessing databases available at CAPES website. After processing the data using the Endnote software, we reached a total of 20 articles complied with the research theme where a bibliometric revision was applied in order to obtain quantitative data. For a qualitative reflex, the keywords are exposed from the selected articles indicating areas related to the research object, which will serve as a guideline for future studies. In the same sense, we try to put into evidence the definitions and characteristics of the terms design management and social innovation present in the texts and to promote a debate over the subject as well as to collaborate to the formation of a theoretical framework.

Keywords: design management, social innovation, design for social innovation, literature revision, bibliometric revision.
